Entire sheets of paper are torn into strips, repeatedly folded to make a triangle in cross section, and laboriously glued together forming dynamic compositions that spread across the wall.
Surprising and stimulating combinations of color and texture are sought: thin edges of electric orange and yellow eek out from behind natural tan and violet, metallic coincides with fibrous organic, solid gold with ethereal ink blots, woody circles with sharp black lines. The resultant works resemble protective shields or ciphers of alien correspondence.
The folding endows each strip of paper with a rigidity that the orginial sheet did not contain. The finished piece appears to have the solidity of wood or metal but is weightless; strength emerges from that which is commonly conceived as weak and the eye is inspired toward transgression.
