Alyssa, bottom row, third from right, together with the Boneca de Ataúro, a women's cooperative on the island of Ataúro, Timor-leste.

Welcome to the site of Alyssa Casey:

As an artist impassioned by handmade paper, site-specific work, travel, languages, teaching, and the sciences, I have traveled the world painting murals, making public sculptures, studying with handmade paper masters - Victòria Rabal in Capellades, Spain, Roberto Mannino in Rome, Italy, Professor Kamori in São Paulo, Brazil and Paul Wong of Dieu Donné Papermill in New York - and teaching handpapermaking at such venues as MCLA Gallery 51 in Massachusetts, James Madison University, and, most recently, during a three month residency at the Boneca de Ataúro, Timor-leste.

I am currently a high school art teacher in Richmond, California, and I love learning more and more about art from my students everyday.
